Lime Putty is a multipurpose, time-tested high-calcium lime binder used to create lime mortar, lime plaster, lime render, and limewash. Calcium Di-Hydroxide Ca (OH)2 (Hydrated Lime) is suspended in water to create lime putty.

Lime mortar, lime plaster, lime render, limewash, and lime shelter coats are made by rehydrating (slaking) high-purity Pure Lime Powder under an abundance of water into a thick, viscous paste that is then allowed to mature for later use or added to sand or aggregates.

For fine internal plaster work, lime was traditionally made into a putty, matured, and sieved. Modern fine-powdered Quicklime produced industrially slakes more quickly and develops into a usable putty without the need to sieve it.
